We treat all of our animals like family and would expect anyone applying to adopt through us to do the same.
Before beginning the adoption process
- Are you looking for a pet? Our animals are only available to private homes and are not to be used for breeding, feeding, experimental purposes or any other profit making activity.
- Are you happy to have a homecheck, arranged at a mutually convenient time?
- Are you happy to sign into an adoption contract? Please email us if you wish to see a copy of the contract.
If the answer to each of these questions is YES please keep reading.
The Adoption Process
Step 1: Get in touch
If you’d like to offer a home to any Mickelmarsh rodent(s), or would like to know who we have available for adoption, please email us: [email protected]
Step 2: Adoption Application
We’ll then send you an application form to complete.
Your responses will give us a clearer picture of you as an owner and help us to match the animal(s) with the right home.
If we don’t have a suitable match, we may ask if you’d like to join our waiting list and be contacted when one arrives.
Step 3: Discussion
Once we have received your application you will be contacted with any queries or suggestions.
Successful applicants will then be contacted to arrange a home-check, where necessary.
We will place a reserve on the animal(s) you’re looking to adopt.
Step 4: The home-check.
This is very informal and is mainly to check that you are ready for your new arrival(s).
It also gives us the chance to answer any last-minute questions you may have.
Step 5: Home time After signing an adoption contract, you get to take your new family member(s) home.
We continue to care about the welfare of all Mickelmarsh animals after they have been adopted.
Don’t forget that we are at the other end of the Internet or phone if you need any advice or support and all adoptees are given lifelong rescue back-up, should they need to come back for any reason.
